There's this little noise that I hear sometimes...
It comes randomly, but only seems to really be at night...
It sounds like a spoon rapidly tapping on a piece of paper, like twice a second...
It's piercing; you can hear it through your music...
And the worst part - the part that makes me look crazy - it's in the wall!
It's not in the air vents, it's coming from the very concrete wall itself.
And when I try to focus on it, it moves to a different part of the wall.
I have no idea what it is, save one thing: maddening!

I think finals are making you snap. But they're almost over, right? Yay!! Sanity!
could be your windows/window frames. Presuming they're made of glass and metal, they might be making that noise as they adjust to the temperature and possible pressure differences of night time.
That or you're insane, totally and completely insane.
